Food assistance

We inform you that the next stage of food support for people in need is beginning: the European Funds for Food Aid 2021-2027 Program co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus, which is planned for the period February – September 2025.

OPL Foundation UNITERS (United Volunteers), cooperating with the SOS Food Bank in Warsaw, supports people in need from the Mazovia Voivodeship, within the Warsaw county in the Warsaw municipality.

The aim of the program is to provide food aid to those most in need and to ensure accompanying resources that support their social inclusion.

Recipients of food assistance and accompanying measures:

Food assistance is available to individuals and families in difficult life situations who meet the following:

  1. criteria specified in Article 7 of the Act of March 12, 2004, on social assistance
    (Journal of Laws 2024, items 1283 and 1572)
  2. income criterion of 2,676.50 PLN for a single-person household and 2,180.95 PLN per person in a family.

Assistance can be obtained by those most in need who have received a referral from the Social Welfare Center.

Food aid

As part of the program, each person referred for food assistance may receive FREE of charge at least approx. 30 kg of food products in the form of several food parcels:

If a family consists of, for example, 5 members, each person will receive the same set of food products. Additionally, they may receive donated food with a short shelf life.

Accompanying measures

Additionally, the Local Distribution Organization (OPL) UNITERS Foundation (United Volunteers), in cooperation with the Food Bank, will carry out the following planned accompanying measures for people in need, supporting their social inclusion:

Thematic educational cycles: economic education, nutrition and dietetics, cooking, and consumer rights.

Educational workshops on: food waste prevention, proper waste segregation, cooking, psychodietetics, and managing a household budget.

Inclusion and integration activities (cycles).

Consultation duty hours.
